I know I'll watch, I know I'll hate it, and I know I'll be exasperated.

I have this sense that we Nebraska fans don't deserve a good product because there's not the faintest whiff of basketball tradition, and we're all just killing time until baseball starts up and the Red/White game draws near - which in turn allows us to kill time until football starts again.
Is this what it's like to be an Indiana/Kentucky/Duke fan during football season? Should I stop watching? Someone give me some hope, here. Jon? Anyone?

I'll admit
I don’t get it either.
I also think Sadler is a good coach, but… hell, I don’t know what to think of this current crop. It’s the same problem that’s plagued Nebrasketball for years – everyone can’t get it together and play a good game all at the same time and all on the same night.
I don’t have much hope for you, unfortunately. I don’t know if this team has stopped playing, or if Sadler will survive another year.

Husker basketball fills me with lulz
I pretty much expect mediocrity (or worse) every game, every year, and anything better than that is a pleasant surprise. When all else fails, lower your expectations. Takes a lot of the pain away – you should try it.

Save Money
It sounds awful, but i think they should just give up on Mens basketball and save the money.
They should cancel the mens basketball team and start a Hockey team. I think they would get a lot more attendance and then we would have something worth watching…at least you might see a good fight eveyonce in a while.

men's basketball
makes money. it’s not a losing sport, which is why they can’t just let it rot.

Depends on your definition of losing.

A Husher hockey team would be awesome! The bball team just needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. We have gone to the big dance before and we can do it again. Like Omaha, we just need to win a game once we get there!

There is hope for change is on the horizon
I am pretty sure Doc will be let go after this season. I think this is a necessary step towards moving in the right direction. If Doc was the right coach, we would be a borderline March madness team at this point. But instead we are dead last among major conference teams. I heard on the radio today that we should be considered a mid-major team and have not earned the right to be part of a major conference. Harsh words but it is the reality that we are facing.

I think Sadler has lost his confidence that he can succeed as well.

Come on UNL
It’s embarrassing that the tiny school up in Omaha (Creighton) has a better basketball program than you guys. Pick it up!

I'm not convinced that Creighton is that much better in basketball...
They needed a fluky set of technical fouls to defeat Nebraska this year. The reason some people think Creighton’s program is so much better is because the Jays never play anybody of consequence. (3…2…1… and Jays fan will stop by to tell us how awesome San Diego State and Wichita State are…)

Or how awesome they looked on ESPN derping their way to victory against Long Beach St.
