Last night things were going pretty well as the Huskers took a 8-5 lead into the ninth inning. Nebraska brought in Tyler Niederklein to close out the game, but unfortunately he ended up giving up five earned runs, five hits, and a walk in only a third of an inning.
Baseball is such a cruel game.

Hope so.
Women on a three-game losing streak, and the Baseball team losing that heart-breaker last night.
redvalley - February 19, 2012
is Wisconsin's
women’s team any good?
Jon Johnston - February 19, 2012
They're 4-9, 8-17.
So we should get a W today.
redvalley - February 19, 2012

redvalley - February 19, 2012
Huskers

redvalley - February 19, 2012
Ha!
Just noticed there’s a big sign with “You Betcha!” hanging on one end of the arena. An homage to announcer Matt Coatney.
redvalley - February 19, 2012
let's go!!
Out and about with the wife for the day. I’ll be listening!
Go Big Red!

twinsgirl197 - February 19, 2012

60-34. 13:03 left.
redvalley - February 19, 2012
Oh, Crap!
Freshman Emily Cady hurt, putting no weight on her left leg as they help her off the court.
This will really hurt the team. Cady has been playing great ball since we got into B1G play.
redvalley - February 19, 2012
yikes,
She’s been having a great season, hope its not too bad, but not putting weight on it seems like a bad thing
twinsgirl197 - February 19, 2012
OKay,
Cady heading to the locker room, but she’s putting weight on that leg.
redvalley - February 19, 2012
Now back

redvalley - February 19, 2012
Sometimes when you're getting over bad juju, it's kind of like getting past a cold.
Takes a little bit before you can punch at your level again.
Salt Creek and Stadium - February 19, 2012
But they played
lights-out in the first half. Hated to see them let down in the second.
redvalley - February 19, 2012
They'll burn through the bad juju soon enough.
Salt Creek and Stadium - February 19, 2012
Positive thinking
is a good thing! : )
redvalley - February 19, 2012
Jeez I'm a bad fan
Thought this game was later
Oh well at least we are winning
Doc1028 - February 19, 2012
I forgot about the game too,
I only remembered because drving rules bore me so I came on the internet to take a break
twinsgirl197 - February 19, 2012
Study that stuff closely
The DMV is very sneaky on the test portion
Doc1028 - February 19, 2012
I know,
I just started drivers ed though, but I’ll be able to get my permit on my birthday this year. I already took the old version of the test on the first day of class for fun after I finished the assignment and passed that so it kind of bores me. But I suppose it’s probably better that I actually pay attention to what I’m reading and studying
twinsgirl197 - February 19, 2012
Woo-Hoo!
Kaiser RBI single scores Burleson..4-0 Huskers.
redvalley - February 19, 2012

crowd pretty loud….
Jon Johnston - February 19, 2012
Bases loaded.
Need to get out of this inning.
redvalley - February 19, 2012
Kaiser
snags the line drive. Zags strand three again. Still 4-2, heading to the bottom of the 7th (I think).
redvalley - February 19, 2012
Bottom of the eighth.
redvalley - February 19, 2012
Pritchard single!
redvalley - February 19, 2012
got
out of that….
Jon Johnston - February 19, 2012
Yeah,
That could have been ugly.
redvalley - February 19, 2012
Kildow,
running for Pritchard, steals second. Kash at the plate…grounds out.
redvalley - February 19, 2012
Nothing out of that inning
for the Huskers. Still lead 4-2 going to the ninth.
redvalley - February 19, 2012
Brandon Pierce
on the mound for NU.
redvalley - February 19, 2012
Error by Farmer,
two runners on for Gonzaga.
redvalley - February 19, 2012
pierce
having problems pitching too.
just walked a guy to load the bases.
this is why i’ve been saying – they have to find some pitchers.
Jon Johnston - February 19, 2012
A walk
loads the bases. One out.
redvalley - February 19, 2012
tied it up!
dang… Pierce threw two strikes….
oh, hell, they took the lead.
it’s 5-4 Bulldogs..
Jon Johnston - February 19, 2012
Ruh roh.
5-4 Bulldogs after bases clearing double…
twinsgirl197 - February 19, 2012
Dang.
Doble scores three for the Zags. 5-4 Gonzaga, still just one out…now two down.
redvalley - February 19, 2012
Gotta stop
giving up these late rallies. 5-4 Gonzaga going to the bottom of the ninth.
redvalley - February 19, 2012
lead
run on base – Headley gets a hit!
Jon Johnston - February 19, 2012
Blake Headley
with a single.
redvalley - February 19, 2012
Tying run on first no outs
I’m feeling a comeback. Or maybe that’s just hope
twinsgirl197 - February 19, 2012
Crap,
Peters pops up the bunt for the first out. Kaiser up.
redvalley - February 19, 2012
Kaiser walks!
Two on, one out.
redvalley - February 19, 2012
Sanguinetti

Jon Johnston - February 19, 2012
And that's the game.
Gonzaga wins 5-4. Another heart-breaker.
redvalley - February 19, 2012
did the audio cut out for anyone else?
I’m trying to reload it but its not coming back
twinsgirl197 - February 19, 2012
oh, well that answers that.
Dang
twinsgirl197 - February 19, 2012
Yeah,
It’s been doing it for me throughout the game, but I think they’re on a commercial break now.
redvalley - February 19, 2012
It cut out during the last at bat.
I am just a slow typer plus my internet took a while to post
twinsgirl197 - February 19, 2012
that sucks...
Jon Johnston - February 19, 2012
How did Kubat do?
Omaha Sun - February 19, 2012
he did very well
for a first start.
Five innings, seven hits, no runs, one strike out.
But once again, it was the closing that was an issue
Jon Johnston - February 20, 2012
Nice, Kyle.
Omaha Sun - February 20, 2012
