Nebraska is down 0-2 and has already lost the series. Today we find out whether Gonzaga gets to bring out their brooms.

Last night things were going pretty well as the Huskers took a 8-5 lead into the ninth inning. Nebraska brought in Tyler Niederklein to close out the game, but unfortunately he ended up giving up five earned runs, five hits, and a walk in only a third of an inning.

Baseball is such a cruel game.

Baseball

and women’s basketball both happening at the same time. (The women are playing Wisconsin on BTN.)

WBB:

Jordan Hooper hits two threes early. 6-0 Huskers.

Lindsey Moore

with a three. 11-4 us. Moore has a wrap on her left knee. Injured it Thursday night.

Maybe they both can get a W today!!
Hope so.

Women on a three-game losing streak, and the Baseball team losing that heart-breaker last night.

is Wisconsin's

women’s team any good?

They're 4-9, 8-17.

So we should get a W today.

wow

2B missed a ball, then the Zags miss throw to 3B, so we get a guy home and score.

Sangria scores… 1-0!

WBB:

Hooper with two more. 17-13 us.

there's

an example of that aggressive base running we’re going to be doing this year.

Wisky takes the lead

on a three and FT’s…18-17 Badgers.

Huskers

with 6 straight…23-18 NU.

Ha!

Just noticed there’s a big sign with “You Betcha!” hanging on one end of the arena. An homage to announcer Matt Coatney.

let's go!!

Out and about with the wife for the day. I’ll be listening!

Go Big Red!

WBB:

Huskers up ten, 30-20.

Wow,

Caitlyn Burke getting hot…scored the last six points. 32-22…now 34-22 us. Just under two min’s to go first half.

Nebraska ahead

2-0 after 2.5 innings.

sounds like the women are taking charge

Yeah,

the shots are falling for us again. Thanks for the baseball update.

Wow,

Wisky with only one basket in over 7 minutes.

Woodbury

hits a three. 40-24 NU.

Husker score again

RBI single for Pritchard, who got picked off trying to extend to second.

again, aggressive.

Sangria scored from second… because of that running.

Haltime

and Huskers with a commanding 42-24 lead. That’s more like it!

Gonzaga

with back to back singles in the top of the fourth….

no runs

for Gonzaga, they leave three

Wo...

Got out of a tight one there. 3-0 Huskers.

Hooper

with 11 pts and twelve rebounds so far today, her 11th double-double of the season. 48-28 Huskers.

I'm mad,

Forgot there was a game on. Did I miss anything exciting?

We're winning in both sports right now!!
Husker women

are back to their old form again, crushing Wisconsin. Men lead in baseball.

Sweet, thanks!

I was listening to the softball game earlier, since they won maybe all 3 teams will get a win today

well

true freshman pitcher Kyle Kubat has gone five innings not allowing a run…

Wow, that's impressive
Jordan Hooper

hits again, makes the FT. 56-34 NU.

Hooper with 19 pts. now.

60-34. 13:03 left.

Oh, Crap!

Freshman Emily Cady hurt, putting no weight on her left leg as they help her off the court.
This will really hurt the team. Cady has been playing great ball since we got into B1G play.

yikes,

She’s been having a great season, hope its not too bad, but not putting weight on it seems like a bad thing

OKay,

Cady heading to the locker room, but she’s putting weight on that leg.

Now back

on the bench…icing her knee.

Tom Lemke

in to replace Kubat.

Still 3-0

Wisconsin

with a 5-point run. 60-39.

how much time left?
Just over 6 minutes
Husker lead

now cut to 13 points. 60-47. Need to step it up.

Burke

nails a three to end our scoring drought.

bottom of the sixth

Nebraska still ahead 3-0

Sample

with two from the line. 64-52 Huskers. 2:20 left.

This game needs to end.

Now 64-56.

1:28 to go.
Wisky

on a 22-4 run…ouch.

Finally a final...

Huskers win by nine, 68-59. Ugly second half, but at least a win.

Back to baseball.

Hooper scored 19,

had 18 rb’s, 2 assists. Cady with 13 pts. before her injury.

Sometimes when you're getting over bad juju, it's kind of like getting past a cold.

Takes a little bit before you can punch at your level again.

But they played

lights-out in the first half. Hated to see them let down in the second.

They'll burn through the bad juju soon enough.
Positive thinking

is a good thing! : )

Jeez I'm a bad fan

Thought this game was later

Oh well at least we are winning

I forgot about the game too,

I only remembered because drving rules bore me so I came on the internet to take a break

Study that stuff closely

The DMV is very sneaky on the test portion

I know,

I just started drivers ed though, but I’ll be able to get my permit on my birthday this year. I already took the old version of the test on the first day of class for fun after I finished the assignment and passed that so it kind of bores me. But I suppose it’s probably better that I actually pay attention to what I’m reading and studying

Woo-Hoo!

Kaiser RBI single scores Burleson..4-0 Huskers.

yeah

Kiser’s first hit of the season….

playing well today. good aggressive base running.

just need no meltdowns like yesterday

through seven

4-0 huskers.

Wisconsin men's BB coach

Bo Ryan is the spitting image of the Grinch…eerie.

bulldogs

score… 4-1

Uh oh

RBI double for the Zags. Now 4-1.

Lemke being pulled.
Lemke

done…. Tyler King coming in to replace him

With 2 out

Gonzaga singles in another run. 4-2. King out, Huber coming in.

trouble trouble

bases loaded…

crowd pretty loud….

Bases loaded.

Need to get out of this inning.

Kaiser

snags the line drive. Zags strand three again. Still 4-2, heading to the bottom of the 7th (I think).

Bottom of the eighth.
Pritchard single!
got

out of that….

Yeah,

That could have been ugly.

Kildow,

running for Pritchard, steals second. Kash at the plate…grounds out.

Nothing out of that inning

for the Huskers. Still lead 4-2 going to the ninth.

Brandon Pierce

on the mound for NU.

Error by Farmer,

two runners on for Gonzaga.

pierce

having problems pitching too.

just walked a guy to load the bases.

this is why i’ve been saying – they have to find some pitchers.

A walk

loads the bases. One out.

tied it up!

dang… Pierce threw two strikes….

oh, hell, they took the lead.

it’s 5-4 Bulldogs..

Ruh roh.

5-4 Bulldogs after bases clearing double…

Dang.

Doble scores three for the Zags. 5-4 Gonzaga, still just one out…now two down.

Gotta stop

giving up these late rallies. 5-4 Gonzaga going to the bottom of the ninth.

lead

run on base – Headley gets a hit!

Blake Headley

with a single.

Tying run on first no outs

I’m feeling a comeback. Or maybe that’s just hope

Crap,

Peters pops up the bunt for the first out. Kaiser up.

Kaiser walks!

Two on, one out.

Sanguinetti

(AKA Sangria) up.

and he flies out to center,

no one advances.

two outs

we didn’t advance.

Austin Darby up – I believe he’s a true freshman.

here we go.

And that's the game.

Gonzaga wins 5-4. Another heart-breaker.

did the audio cut out for anyone else?

I’m trying to reload it but its not coming back

oh, well that answers that.

Dang

Yeah,

It’s been doing it for me throughout the game, but I think they’re on a commercial break now.

It cut out during the last at bat.

I am just a slow typer plus my internet took a while to post

How did Kubat do?
he did very well

for a first start.

Five innings, seven hits, no runs, one strike out.

But once again, it was the closing that was an issue
