Rutgers head coach, Greg Schiano, has departed from the school to coach the Tampa Bay Buccaneers just a week before National Signing Day. This could have a positive effect for Nebraska as we are competing for the signature of N.J. native Devin Fuller who seemed to be narrowed down to just a few schools left including Rutgers. Does this also open the conversation back up with Quanzell Lambert, who previously gave a verbal to Rutgers over Nebraska?
I was just coming here to post this
I work with a guy, who is from NJ and big into college recruiting. He told me that Fuller should be leaning Huskers now and that Schiano leaving really hurts their chances of getting Fuller. This guy’s dad is a NJ high school football ref, so he has watched Fuller play a lot.
My coworker also said that Fuller has an accurate cannon for an arm and is a “true” dual threat guy, moreso than Martinez or anyone else we have recruited in a while. His recommendation would be for the Huskers to really make a full court press now, as he thinks Fuller could be a better version of Crouch. He is a Notre Dame fan, so there is no homerism involved.

He lost any credibility with “better version of” heisman winner “eric crouch”.
I’ve been on the recruiting trail myself…already tweeted Quanzell Lambert “We’d still love to have you in Husker Nation. #itsnottoolate”

hahahahaah
funny that Eric Crouch brings such polarization after all these years….
anyone else do more to polarize a fan base than Crouch? (Martinez doesn’t count, his career is not yet over)

Why does that lose him credibility?
I think that was just his way of saying that Fuller is really good. Living here on the East Coast, I am constantly defending Crouch and what he brought to the Nebraska offense during his playing time. Do I have to defend Crouch to Nebraska fans now too?
I happen to trust my coworker’s judgement and he may end up being right or wrong. Does not matter. I just thought I would come post it here and share the insight with you all from someone who 1. has seen Fuller play in person and 2. is fairly knowledgeable, especially when it comes to NJ HS football.

haha
No…just joking. Im saying you don’t get a whole lot better than the heisman.

but seriously...
If Fuller is good enough to even be mentioned in relation to a heisman winner…we need to pick him up.
